PUSHPAYAGAM ON APRIL 3 IN SKVST

Tirupati, 26 Mar. 16: The famous temple of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy at Srinivasa Mangapuram is gearing up for the Pushpayaga Mahotsava on April 3 with Ankurarpanam on April 2. In this connection, TTD EO Dr D Samabasiva Rao along with Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar released the wall poster in his chambers on Saturday.

All projects special officer Sri N Muktheswara Rao, Temple DyEO Sri Venkataiah were also present.

This happens to be one of the most important religious rituals in the Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam.

Generally, this utsavam is conducted to appease the almighty to save the mankind from natural calamities such as cyclones, famine, earth quake etc., This utsavam is usually conducted on sravana nakshatram day the birth star of Lord Venkateswara. Veda Sathumurai’ and ‘Santhi Manthra’ recitation will also be performed seeking peace and tranquility in the world.

Earlier in the day, Snapana Tirumanjanam will be performed to the processional deities of Lord Kalyana Venkateswara and His Consorts at Kalyana Mandapam inside the yagasala premises between 10:30am to 12 noon.

Later, the lord along with His consorts will be given a floral bath with nearly 6 tonnes of flowers including 18 varieties from 2.30pm to 5pm. Later, unjal seva and veedi utsavam follows Pushpayagam in the evening.

Meanwhile TTD performed Pushpayagam for the first time in the history of the Srinivasa Mangapuram temple in the year 2008. Willing grihastas can take part in this seva by paying Rs.516/- on which two members are allowed.
