RAMAYANA BALLET from Indonesia to be performed at Tirumala

Tirupati, August 14: A dance troupe from Indonesia will present the mythological dance ballet at the Nada Neerajanam platform near the Srivari Temple at Tirumala on Sunday, August 14th, as part of the anniversary celebrations of the Nada Niranjanam program.

 Sri IYR Krishna Rao said one cultural event has been presented daily throughout the year ( all 365 days)  at the Nada Neerajanam venue since last August. They included dance ballets, music programs, and cultural concerts, he said.

He said the Nada Neerajanam (an offering to the God in the form of music and dance), a daily 90-minute live show, is the only show of classical music/dance for a period of 365 days without interruption anywhere in the world.  The program is also aired live on the Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel every day.

To mark the first year anniversary the  Indonesian group – Wayang Wong – will be performing ‘The Ramayana Ballet’ on the Nada Neerajanam vedika. The team led by  Budiartha  Inymon with  30 artists including five female artists, ten male and a fifteen-member orchestra will present the epic story of Ramayana in nine parts.

So far, nine different varieties of classical dance and three different forms of classical music have been presented at Nada Neerajanam. As on today, a total of about 4200 artists, including artists of the highest reputation in their fields – 30 Padma Shri, five Padma Vibhushan and five Padma Bhushan holders have performed on stage.
