RECORD NUMBER OF PILGRIMS HAD VAIKUNTHA DWARA DARSHAN-EO

COMPLIMENTS TTD WORK FORCE FOR THE ARRANGEMENTS

Tirumala, 10 January 2017: A record number of pilgrims had a hassle free darshan and vaikunthadwara darshan on January 8 and January 9 taking the total to a whopping 1, 77, 106 adding another feather in the camp of TTD, said TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao.

The EO said, during 2015 on December 21 and 22 when 1,68,743 pilgrims had darshan on Vaikuntha Ekadasi and Dwadasi, this year an additional 8263 pilgrims had darshan on these two auspicious days. On January 8 over 92,624 pilgrims had darshan while on January 9 about 84,482 pilgrims had walked through Vaikuntha Dwaram.

Similarly the Annaprasadam arrangements, water distribution and sanitary measures by Health Department, additional temporary compartments and toilets by engineering wing, security measures by Vigilance wing etc. contributed towards the successful conduct of the twin events without any inconvenience.

On the previous day of Vaikuntha Ekadasi on January 7, Annaprasadams have been served to over 1,51,500 in Narayanagiri Gardens apart from 64,000 in VQC compartments and 82,561 in Annaprasadam Complex (MTVAC)while on January 8, about 76,600 pilgrims had food in MTVAC, 88,560 in Narayanagiri Gardens, 1,11,850 in VQC. On Dwadasi day on January 9, Annaprasadams were served to 62,578 in MTVAC, 37000 in VQC and 30000 in Narayanagiri Gardens.

The Engineering wing has set up 16 temporary compartments with sheds in Narayanagiri Gardens for the occasion with 14 temporary toilets, 70 mike sets and 70 speakers to make round the clock announcements.

While the health department has deployed 600 workers per shift to work in three shifts per day during these days to maintain cleanliness in the premises of Narayanagiri Gardens.

While the TTD Vigilance and Security wing, apart from its sleuths took the support of Srivari Sevakulu, Scouts and Guides for the pilgrim crowd management.

On the other hand, the devotees had a visual treat with the Saptha Dwara Darshana concept arranged by the Garden wing of TTD near Vaibhavotsava Mandapam. The TTD Garden department has made floral decorations with the help of donors who contributed over Rs.36lakhs towards the flower decorations inside the temple and also for Vaikuntha Saptha Dwara concept.

Complimenting various departments of TTD for the successful conduct of Vaikutha Ekadasi and Vaikuntha Dwadasi which has witnessed record number of pilgrim turn out in the history of TTD, the EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao wished the employees to continue to offer services with the same spirit in future too.
