• 40,000 emergency calls attended

Tirumala, 23 September 2015: The security arrangements for crowd management and also traffic control on Garuda Seva had yielded good results and there was absolutely trouble free and incident free conduction of Brahmotsavam,says the CV&SO Sri G Nagender Kumar.

Speaking to reporters at the Media center, the CV& SO said that except for a one two wheeler and a car accident,the entire arrival and evacuation of devotees on such a large scale on Garuda Seva day passed off very smoothly.

‘We had 40,000 emergency calls including two short circuits on Garuda seva and handled them all’ he said that month long planning had paid off dividends.

He said the arrangements were handled by a IG rank official with 2800 vigilance staff,5000 policemen,3 units of SPG, 3 Octopus, 1 NDRF unit, 200 home guards, 400 Srivari Sevaks, 400 Scouts, 400 NCC cadets.

CV& SO said the vigilance had checked over one lakh privilege vehicles at Alipiri point and almost 4.5 lakh luggage including 50,000 pieces were transported from Tirupati to Tirumala on auspicious peratasi Saturday.’ Our forces worked@33 % efficiency on a 12 hours shifts’. he said.
