RELIGIOUS FERVOUR MARKS RADHASAPTHAMI IN LOCAL SHRINES

Tirupati, 14 February 2016: When the hill shrine of Tirumala witnessed sea of humanity for the Surya Jayanthi festival of Radhasthami, the local devotees swarmed to TTD-sub temples too in Tirupati and Tiruchanoor.

IN SRI PAT: The vehicle procession which began with Suryaprabha Vahanam in Tiruchanoor concluded on a grand note with Gaja Vahanam with Goddess taking celestial ride on Simha, Aswa, Garuda, Peddasesha and Chandra Prabha vahanams in between.

IN SRI GT: The vahanams began in this ancient temple of Lord Sri Govindaraja Swamy in Tirupati in a unique manner with Chakrasnanam followed by Surya Prabha, Hamsa, Hanumantha, Peddasesha, Mutyapu Pandiri, Sarva Bhoopala and Garuda Vahanams.

In Srinivasa Mangapuram and in the recently taken over Sri Kodanda Ramalayam temple, the Rathasapthami fete was observed in a ceremonious way.
