RICH TRIBUTES PAID TO VAGGEYAKARA PITAMAHA TYAGARAJA SWAMI

Tirupati, 28 January 2016: The temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has performed the 169th Aradhanotsavams of Vaggeyakara Pitamaha, Sri Tyagaraja Swami in a befitting manner by rendering Pancharatna Kritis and performing Abhishekam to the panchaloha idol of the great composer.

The festival was performed under the aegis of TTD-run Sri Venkateswara College of Music and Dance on Thursday.

The special officer Smt Gowtami said, the Tiruvayur fete has been replicated here today in the temple city and special abhishekam, Nagara Sankeerthana Shobhayatra and Pancharatna Kritis were offered as a tribute to the saint music composer.

Later the college principal Smt YVS Padmavathi said, Nadabrahma, Sangeetha Jagatguru Sri Tyagaraja Swamy is considered one among the Carnatic Musical Trinity. “He has given the musical world the rarest of the rarest compositions which knew no language boundaries. Even today his compositions are considered to be encyclopedia to the music learners and lovers”, she added.

IN MAHATI:

Meanwhile in the evening, about 108 artistes including the renowned artistes from Tirupati, faculty of Music and Dance college rendered Tyagaraja Pancharatna Kritis in a melodious manner.
