SAINT RAMANUJA WAS A SPIRITUAL SOCIAL REFORMER-TTD EO

Tirupati, 1 May 2017: Describing the Sri Vaishnava Saint Sri Ramanujacharya as a spiritual social reformer, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said, he succeeded in preaching equality and fraternity some 1000 years ago itself and brought great transformation in the society.

In connection with Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Jayanthi fete on Monday, the TTD EO along with Tirupati JEO and TTD All Projects SO garlanded the life size statue of Sri Ramanujacharya in Tirupati.

Speaking to media the TTD EO said, Ramanujacharya is believed to be incarnation of Adisesha and took up the mission of bringing all of them onto a single devotional platform with his spiritual ideologies. “In those days there were many religious and social disparities. But Sri Ramanuja dedicated his life in uniting all with Sri Vaidhnava Tatva”, EO observed.

Later the EO also said, Tirupati and Tirumala have a great bond with Ramanujacharya as he developed Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple and revived all kainkaryams in Srivari temple respectively. “As a mark of respect to this great holy human on his millennium birth anniversary we have organised Ratha Yatras, Srinivasa Kalyanams in all Sri Vaishnava Divya Desams for an year starting from May last”, he added.

In his speech on this ceremonious occasion, Tirupati Jeo Sri P Bhaskar said, Ramanuja Tatva laid base for equality from good olden days itself. “He pioneered the slogan of equality with “Narayana Mantra” and achieved what he believed. So he envisaged equality through Bhakti Tatva”, he added.

All Projects Special Officer Sri N Muktheswara Rao said, in view of this momentous occasion we have brought out many books and DVDs on Sri Ramanujacharya.
