SHOBHA YATRA OF JEWELS

Vontimitta, 10 April, 17: The Shobha Yatra of gold jewels to be presented to Lord Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy was held amidst religious fervour in Vontimitta on Monday.

The golden Sathari and Yagnopaveetham which were brought from Tirumala temple was taken to Kalyana Vedika where Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam is set to take place between 5pm and 6pm.

TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, JEOs Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, Sri P Bhaskar and other dignitaries took part in this celestial procession.

EDURKOLU UTSAVAM ENTHRALLS

Meanwhile the Edurkolu Utsavam which was performed as per the Telugu tradition of marriage, enthralled the devotees.
Lord Sri Rama in the guise of bridegroom and Goddess Sita as the most beautiful bride were brought facing each other to Kalyana Vedika and the garlands were changed thrice. On their behalf the archakas danced rhythmically while changing the garlands which mused the spectators.

ANNAMAIAH’s RAMA SANKEERTANS MUSE DEVOTEES

The set of songs penned by Saint poet Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya exclusively on Lord Sri Rama mused the devotees as they were melodiously rendered by renowned singers, Smt Kondaveeti Jyotirmayi, Sri P Ranganath and Smt Bullemma.

The songs included “Ramudu Raghavudu.. Raghukukuditadu”, “Jaya Jaya Rama.. Samaravijaya Rama” and many more. Apart from Annamaiah keertans, the artistes also rendered Bhakta Ramadasu, Sri Tyagaiah songs also on this celestial occasion.

“PARINAYA VEDIKA”-CELESTIAL WEDDING DIAS SHOWCASES TELUGU TRADITION

The entire premises of Kalyana Vedika, where the celestial wedding Lord Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy with the universal beauty Goddess Sita has been tastefully and colourfully decked matching the wedding tradition of Telugu at Vontimitta.

On Monday being the full moon day, the rays of the bright moon enhanced the beauty of the divine couple as well the marriage platform premises.

The Garden wing of TTD has made special arrangements for beautifying Kalyana Vedika with both traditional and exotic flowers brought from Bengaluru, Salem, Chennai. About two tonnes of flowers and 15000 cut flowers have been used to decorate the Kalyana Vedika as the “Celestial Wedding Dias” to host the divine wedding event on Monday evening.

Apart from flowers, different varieties of fruits including pine apples, apples, grapes, oranges, sugar canes etc.have also been used to deck the “Parinaya Vedika” in an exquisite manner.
