SPIRITUAL ECSTASY LOOMS LARGE IN VIZAG

VIZAG, JULY23:The week-long unique spiritual programme mulled by TTD, Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavams off to a grand start on Wednesday and has spread its devotional effervescence in the famous city of Visakhapatnam as thousands and thousands of denizens thronged the Swarna Bharathi Auditorium to witness the rituals with spiritual ecstasy.

The arjitha sevas that are being performed to the Lord Venkateswara in the finely decked replica temple mused the locals with divine enchantment and given a special feel as if they were witnessing these sevas in the abode of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala. The entire auditorium premises echoed with “Govinda Govinda” namas soon after he completion of each seva with a back ground narration by Brahmasri Chaganti Koteswara Rao.

The day started with Suprabhatam-the first and foremost awakening seva at 6am where the Lord Venkateswara is made to wake up in the morning by reciting 70 slokas penned by Partivadi Bhyankara Annan.

This was followed by Thomala Seva where in the Lord was adorned with beautiful garlands of flowers by 6.30am and this ritual is followed by Koluvu where the temple priests rendered the day’s duty chart before Lord by 7.30am. Later the priests praised the Lord chanting His 1000 glorious name in Archana seva that took place between 7.30am to 8.15am. The first half of the programme concluded with Nivedana Sattumora between 8.15am to 8.30am.

Later the special arjitha seva of Sahasra Kalasabhishekam was performed between 8.30am to 10am where in the processional deities and Sri Visvaksena-the chief-commander of Lord were rendered abhishekam with 1008 Kalasas of sacred water. The devotees were thrilled to see the grandeur of Lord on this occasion. Later second Nivedana was performed.

The devotees were allowed for Sarvadarshanam from 10.30am to 5.30pm. Tens of thousands of devotees had darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

In the evening between 5.30pm to 6.30pm Sahasra Deepalankara seva was performed where in the devotees who took part in this particular arjitha seva were mused by the enhanced divine beauty of the deities in the light of 1000 ghee lit lamps.

Later Veedhi utsavam was performed where in the deities were taken out for a colourful procession between 6.30pm to 7.30pm and this event was followed by night kainkaryams and the day concluded with Ekanta Seva where in the replica of Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy was put for rest.
