TTD’s PET PROJECT COMPLETES TEN YEARS

Tirupati, 24 March 2016: Sravanam, One of the most important pet projects of TTD has been gaining popularity year after year for its stupndous services in providing hearing assistance to the infants born deaf and completed ten years of its sojourn in a successful manner winning the hearts of poor and common denizens.

PARENTS DESCRIBE SRAVANAM AS “ELIXIR OF LIFE” FOR THEIR KIDS

The happiness of the parents of the infants aged between 0years to 5years who are undergoing treatment in the TTD-run Shravanam Project knew no bounds when they hear to the sweet voices of their
infants calling them “Amma-Nanna”.

DAILY WAGE LABOURS KID MARVELS

For the parents Rama Lakhsmi and Rama Krishna who hail from Dwaraka Tirumala of West Godavari, when Sairam was born to them six years ago, they felt very happy. But their happiness did not lost long when they were shocked to notice that their kid was born deaf.

But as the couple are daily wage labours, they could not able to afford the medical expenses for their kid. However, the mother expressed that she came to about the Sravanam Project run by TTD through SVBC channel in 2013 and joined her kid.

“Today with the blessings of Lord Venkateswara, my child not only calls me Amma, but able to recite slokas, vemana satakam, tables. I have given him birth. But Sravanam has provided him rebirth. We are indebted to TTD, Sravanam organisers”, the elated mother said.

CHILDREN RECITE SANSKRIT SLOKAS AND SATAKA PADYAMS:

Tears flushed out from the eyes of mothers who were congregated in the school premises in Old Maternity Hospital in Tirupati on Thursday, when they heard their kids reciting Sanskrit Slokas, Vemana Padyams, Sumathi Satakam with eloquence and ease.

TTD EO Dr D Samba Siva Rao, JEO Sri P Bhaskar, Board member Sri G Bhanuprakash Reddy, CMO Dr N Vikas all appreciated the children and the faculty who have trained them.

FROM JUST 14 TO 823:

Started with just 14 infants in the year 2006 on December 15 and in the present year 201 students are undergoing training. As on today over 823 students underwent training in this institution which was set up with a noble aim to remove despair from the minds of both the parents and children suffering from deafness and extend moral support to them in leading a normal life. Among these students, about 182 students have already joined in the integrated schools in their respective native villages and enjoying their normal life.

TRAINED TEACHERS TO TRAIN INFANTS:

There are 31 faculty to train the infants in audio and speech therapy. TTD is also providing training to the parents of the infants also on the better communication tips.
