KAREERISTHI CONCLUDES WITH PURNAHUTHI

Tirumala, 13 September 2015: TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy on Sunday asserted that after completion of the five day Kareeristhi, the Rain God Varuna is sure to shower His divine blessings in the form of good showers.

The TTD Trust Board Chairman took part on the final day of Kareeristhi. Later speaking to media persons he said, about 42 Ritwiks performed Rushyasringa Homam, Chaturveda Parayanam during these five days with utmost devotion as per prescribed Vedic norms. “We are sufficient of every thing except water. But we are confident that with the blessings of Lord Venkateswara and with the mercy of Lord Varuna, we will get good showers not only in the hill town but across the state as well in the country from the prosperity of the entire living organisms”, he observed.

TTD EO, JEO TAKES PART IN PURNAHUTHI: TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, Tirumala Jeo Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju took part in Purnahuthi ceremony of Kareeristhi on Sunday. After the religious ceremony, the EO said, renowned Ritwiks from Southern India including veteran pundits Sri Chirravuri Srirama Sharma, Sri Viswanatha Gopala Krishna Shastry, Sri Kasipathi, Sri Vadlamani, Sri Phaniyajulu took part in this YAGAM and performed with utmost dedication.

“The ritual is performed based on Sruti-Smriti-Purana Sahita “Tretagni” Homam as per the Vedic tenets. The Ritwiks have used all the Homam ingredients which are black in colour which is unique for this particular Homam including black rice, dates, honey, plant “Varshahu”, horse and goat. Even the attires of Yaga performing Ritwiks were also black. This is as per prescribed Vedic norms to appease Rain God Varuna. Apart from Vedas they have recited Virata Parvam and Sunderakanda episodes also for good rains and we are confident of the results”, he asserted.
