SUPRABHATA SEVA RESUMES IN TIRUMALA FROM JAN 15

TIRUMALA, JAN 15: The first and fore most awakening ritual that is being performed every in the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala resumed on Wednesday with the conclusion of Dhanurmasam on Tuesday.

Usually starting with Dhanurmasam, the Suprabhata Seva is replaced by Tiruppavai where in the temple priests recite Tiruppavai Pasurams penned by the renowned saint poetess Andal Sri Goda Devi in the place of Suprabhatam almost for a month.

This year Dhanurmasam commenced by 10.31am on December 16 and Tiruppavai replaced Suprabhatam from December 17. However, as per the Hindu Almanac, Dhanurmasam was completed by 6.30pm on January 14. Hence, Suprabhata Seva resumed in the Tirumala Shrine on Wednesday.

Meanwhile the pilgrims on Thursday will have a triple bonanza with three important events including Sri Goda Parinayam, Paruveta Utsavam and Pranaya Kalahotsavam taking place in the temple town of Tirumala.

In wake of these rituals TTD has cancelled arjitha sevas like Thomala Archana, Tiruppavada, Kalyanotsavam, Unjalseva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on Thursday.

Even the monthly Pournami Garuda Seva is also been suspended in connection with these festivals on Kanuma Pongal Day.
