SWARNARATHAM ON VAIKUNTHA EKADASI AND CHAKRASNANAM ON DWADASI

TIRUMALA, JAN 10:  In connection with the auspicious Vaikuntha Ekadasi on January 11 and Vaikuntha Dwadasi on January 12, the procession of Swarna Ratham along the four mada streets and Chakrasnanam will be performed in Tirumala on the respective days.

On January 11, the Lord Malayappa Swamy will take the celestial ride on the golden chariot between 9am to 10am along the four mada streets and bless the devotees. According to puranas, observing Ekadasi Vrata on the auspicious Vaikuntha Ekadasi days is equivalent to observing the Vrata of three crore Ekadasis. Hence it is also known as Mukkoti Ekadasi. Meanwhile TTD has cancelled Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Vasantotsavam in wake of this festival on Saturday.

While on January 12, in connection with Vaikuntha Dwadasi, Chakrasnanam will be performed in Swamy Pushkarini before sun rise between 4.30am to 5.30am. Those who take holy dip in Swamy Pushkarini on this auspicious muhurat will be free from all sins and this is equal to taking holy bath in 66crore celestial falls located in the green belt of Seshachala Ranges of Tirumala.
