TAXI DRIVERS COUNSELLED ON GHAT ROAD DRIVING

Tirumala, 21 January 2017: The private taxis drivers belonging to Tirumala and Tirupati were counselled on Ghat Road driving to prevent speeding accidents by Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju.

In the wake of series of accidents on Tirumala Ghat roads in the recent times, an awareness meeting was conducted by Tirumala JEO along with Tirumala VGO Sri Ravinder Reddy on Saturday evening in Gokulam Office Chambers.

After an elaborate brain storming session, the private jeep owners and drivers have been instructed by the TTD officials to follow the travel time of a minimum of 28 minutes between Alipiri toll gate to GNC toll gate and similarly, those who are going to Tirupati through down ghat road number should take at least 40 minutes to reach Alipiri.

“The travel time limit has been set for 40 minutes on the exit route to reduce the speed of journey because there are 56 deep curves in that road. All the drivers must adhere to this rule”, the JEO asserted.

GM Transport Sri Sesha Reddy, RTO Sri Vivekananda Reddy, private jeep owners and drivers were also present.
