TIRUMALA JEO REVIEWS ON JAN 1 AND VAIKUNTHA EKADASI ARRANGEMENTS
TIRUMALA, NOVEMBER 29: Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju reviewed with HODs and senior officials of TTD on the arrangements for the twin important occasions of the New Year and the Vaikunta Ekadasi which falls on 2015 January 1.
A high level review meeting held at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Saturday. The JEO had elaborate discussions with officials of the concerned departments on vigilance and security, various queue lines management, transportation, accommodation, annaprasadam, sanitation and water supply etc. to meet the requirements of the visiting pilgrims on this auspicious occasion.
The JEO said that since Vaikuntha Ekadasi and New Year falls on January 1 which happens to be Thursday and Vaikuntha Dwadasi on January 2 that is Friday, there is a reduction in the provision of darshan hours to pilgrims due to the temple rituals which will be performed on these two days as per temple procedure.
“Since there is Mahasuddhi on Jan 1, we could able to allot about 19hrs for the pilgrims on Vaikuntha Ekadasi and provide darshan to approximately over 60thousand pilgrims while on the second day due to abhishekam, the total hours allotted for darshan is around 18 hours where in we can provide darshan to nearly 65 thousand pilgrims. The pilgrims should also make note of this and co-operate with TTD”, he added.
He said separate committees for Darshan, Reception, Accommodation with senior officers will be constituted on this occasion for the convenience of the pilgrims.
The JEO instructed the Vigilance wing HOD to see that the ghat roads will operate round the clock and security to be beefed up in the toll gates, checking points, vital areas etc. with TTD vigilance and Police sleuths. Annaprasadam arrangements will be made at Alipiri and also at 7th mile, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, Srivari mettu etc. for the pilgrims trekking the foot path routes”, he directed the concerned wing Deputy EO.
He also ordered the engineering wing to complete the necessary shelter, barricading and other works before the stipulated time without any delay. He also instructed them to erect illuminated arches for the special occasion. The JEO told the Garden wing to erect beautiful floral arches for the festival.
The JEO instructed the officers concerned to utilize the services of Srivari Sevakulu and the Degree students studying in TTD run educational institutions to offer free services to pilgrims and line management inside the temple.
“There will be no privilege darshan for donors, aged, parents with infants, NRI, defence personnel, Physically handicapped etc. on this occasion. No recommendation letters will be entertained and there will he no advance reservation”, he said.
