TIRUMALA NAMBI AVATAROTSAVAM OBSERVED

TIRUMALA, AUGUST 23: The temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) under the aegis of Alwar Divya Prabandha Project observed the 1042 Avatarotsavam of Tirumala Nambi, the great Srivaishnavaite religious scholar in Tirumala on Sunday.

The spiritual programme took place in Asthana Mandapam in Tirumala. The meeting was graced over by HH Tirumala Sri Pedda Jiyangar who in his discourse said that Tirumala Nambi in his own right but out of own choice decided to devote his entire life to “theertha-kainkarya” ( service of bringing water from Papanasanam for worship of Lord of Seven Hills) at Tirumala. It is a great programme that TTD has been convening every year as this is the occasion where all the descendants of Tirumala Nambi assemble and celebrate the occasion with religious fervour, he added.

The vice chancellor of Vedic varsity Sri KE Devanathan said Tirumala Nambi dedicated his entire life to the services of the Lord. His entire lifetime was spent living in a small hut on the hills and worked out of it while tending to maintaining and administering the temple of his beloved.

Tirumala Chinna Jiyangar, Project officer Sri Chokkalingam and others were also present.
