TIRUPPAVAI PARAYANAM COMMENCES AT SRIVARI TEMPLE

Tirumala, 16 December 2017: The most significant Masotsavam in the Srivari temple of Tirumala-Dhanurmasam festival- commenced on Saturday wherein the daily Suprabata seva is replaced with Tiruppavai recital.

The Pontiffs Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar and Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar, TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju participated in the Dharnur masa pujas. The Thiruppavai will be recited daily from Tomorrow in the Srivari Temple in place of Suprabata seva till January 14, 2018.

Tiruppavai will be performed in Ekantham to the Srikrishna idol instead of Bhoga Srinivasamurthi idol. Tiruppavai is conceived by Sri Godadevi one of the 12 Alwars in service of Lord Venkateswara. During the dhanurmasam, one of the 30 Pashuras (bhakti keertans) scripted by the Godadevi Alwar will be recited in the Srivari Temple as part of the Tiruppavai parayanam.
