TIRUVADIPPUDI UTSAVAM COMMENCES IN SRI GT

Tirupati, 26 July, 2017: Sri Andal Tiruvadippudi Utsavam was observed with religious fervour in Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple Tirupati on Wednesday.

The significance of this festival is that Andal Sri Godai was born in the auspicious day on the advent of Uttara Phalguni star in Adi month in Srivilliputtur in Tamilnadu, which is considered most sacred and important for Srivaishnavaites.

In the famous and ancient shrine of Sri Govindaraja Swamy, this festival is being observed from the past several centuries in such a way, the ten day fete concludes on Uttara Phalguni Star. Since this festival takes place in the month of Adi, it is called “Tiruvadippudi Utsavam”.

Earlier in the morning Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed between 9:30am to 11:30am. Later Asthanam was performed in Srivari Padala Mandapam at Alipiri to the utsava murthies of Lord Sri Govindaraja Swamy and Andal Ammavaru. The deities were brought back to the temple.
