TRIBUTES PAID TO SADHU SUBRAHMANYA SHASTRY
Tirupati, 10 September 2014: TTD EO Sri MG Gopal on Wednesday paid rich tributes to the live size statue of Sri Sadhu Subrahmanya Shastry, the scholarly epigraphist of TTD on his 34th Death Anniversary.
The EO attributed the glory and popularity of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTDs) as a result of the intensive research carried out by the great Shastry. “Having served as temple Peishkar in TTD, Sri Shastry took keen interest in discovering the literary treasure about the some interesting facts related to the development of Tirumala and other sub-shrines of TTD engraved on the inscriptions and copper plates and carried out a stupendous research work on it. He brought out the facts in the form of several volumes and also brought to light the sankeertans of Tallapaka Annamacharya”, EO added.
Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar, SVETA Director Sri Bhaskar Reddy, successors of Sri Shastry-Smt Girija Devi(younger daughter), Sri CN Murthy(grandson) were also present.
