TTD CHAIRMAN GETS A GRAND AND CEREMONIOUD WELCOME IN KATARAGAMA FETE

Tirumala, 11 Jul. 16: The Lankans have given a memorable and warm reception to
TTD Trust Board chairman Dr Ch Krishna Murthy who took part in the ceremonious Kataragama annual festival in Sri Lanka along with the country’s president HE Sri Mythripala Sirisena on Sunday evening.
The Kataragama temple dedicated to Lord Muruga in Lanka is one of the most important festivals in this island which is being observed in a massive manner with lakhs of people taking part.

This traditional, age old annual festival of this 2000 year old temple commenced on July 5 and will conclude on July 20. The TTD board chief who has been specially invited by this temple board chairman Sri Kumarage for the fete as chief guest, took part in the special festival along with Lankan Prez.
In this auspicious ceremony, a massive procession “Peragara” with over 100 finely decked elephants and thousands of traditional dance troupes performed “Candiian” dance.

The entire fete depicted the grandeur of the festival and stood as a symbol of unity in diversity.
The denizens also mused by the richness, sanctity and power of Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Cult when the Lankan Prez accepted the invitation extended by TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy to visit Tirumala temple.
