TTD COMMENCES SARVA DARSHAN BY 3:00AM

TIRUMALA, JAN 1:  The temple management of TTD has commenced Sarva Darshan for common pilgrims sharp at 3:00am on New Year’s Day on Saturday said, TTD Tirumala JEO Sri K.Bhaskar.
  
Addressing media persons at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Saturday evening, the Joint EO said that the temple management has succeeded in providing a hassle free darshan as per schedule to common pilgrims on January 1. “We finished the protocol VIP darshan between 1:30am to 3am and immediately commenced the Sarva Darshan as per schedule. Apart from this, we have also commenced Divya Darshan and Pratyeka Pravesha Darshan along with Sarva Darshan”, he added.

He said about 60thousand pilgrims had darshan of Lord Venkateswara from 3am till 3pm in various catgories. Giving the statistical data he said, about 18thousand pilgrims had darshan under free darshan category, while 14thousands under Divya Darshan, 20thousand pilgrims had darshan under Rs.300 Pratyeka Pravesha Darshan and five thousands under Rs.50 ticket category apart from 2000 employees in Supatham entry and 1901 protocol VIPs. “By the end of the day, the figure may touch one lakh mark hopefully”, he added.

Elaborating further the JEO said, free meals has been offered to over 21000 pilgrims apart from offering food packets to those standing in queue lines of Vaikuntham I and II, while 26thousand pilgrims tonsured their heads as an offering in Kalyana Katta area. “There is no problem even with accommodation since we have cancelled advanced reservation and only allotted rooms on first come first serve basis”, he maintained. “So far we have distributed 1.7lakh laddus and we still have a buffer stock of over 3.7lakh laddus to meet the demand from the pilgrims”, the JEO said.
