TTD EYES ON STREAMLINING SUGAR PROCUREMENT

TIRUPATI, FEB 18: After the sale of human hair, the temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTDs) has now set its eyes on streamlining the procurement of sugar inviting e-Tenders on monthly basis. Hither to the procurement of sugar is carried out on annual tender basis which resulted in cost fluctuations.

TTD has taken policy level correcting measures in streamlining the procurement of Sugar, which happens to be one of the chief ingredients in the making of tasty laddu as well as other prasadams in the temple of Lord Venkateswara and other sub-shrines and institutions of TTD.

As per the instructions of TTD EO Dr D Samba Siva Rao, the temple management has invited short tenders and succeeded in procuring qualitative, competitive sugar at a considerably reduced price of Rs.27.27 per kg from Rs.33 totally overcoming fluctuations in rate.

Reviewing with the officials in his bungalow on Wednesday evening, the EO said quality is paramount and TTD has waived the conditions on EMDs and SDs, The supplier will henceforth supply the best quality of sugar in PP bags instead of gunny bags. The EO also said there should not be any compromise on the delivery of sugar as per TTD specifications by the supplier.
