TTD MULLS “HOLY CHAKRASNANAMS” ACROSS THE COUNTRY FROM MARCH 1 TO 9

Tirupati, 25 February 2016: The temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has all set to conduct the sacred Chakrsnanams in the holy rivers present in various important centres located across the country in the month of March to create awareness among the public about the divinity of rivers during the holy month of Magha.

With the advent of holy Magha Masam, it has been decided to conduct chakrasnanams in holy rivers of Krishna, Godavari, Triveni Sangamam and Ganga at Vijayawada, Basara, Varanasi, Allahabad and Kurukshetra in the month of Magha from March 1 to 9.

In this religious event, the sacred disc will be rendered holy bath in these rivers which will help the devotees of the respective areas to know about the importance of Maghamasa Chakrasnanam, advent of solar eclipse and the importance attached to the event in scriptures.

As per the schedule of the programme the holy chakrasnanam will be first performed at River Krishna in Vijayawada on March 1 between 8am and 10am, in Godavari at Basara on March 2 between 10am and 12 noon, in Ganges at Varanasi on March 5 between 10am and 12 noon, in Triveni Sangamam at Allahabad on March 6 between 10am and 12 noon and concludes in Kurukshetra on March 9.
