TTD PLACES PoS MACHINES FOR PILGRIMS TO OVERCOME CURRENCY CRUNCH

Tirumala, 9 November 2016: The temple management of TTD has made special alternative arrangements for the sake of multitude of visiting pilgrims both at Tirumala and in Tirupati to overcome the currency crunch created after the scrapping of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes.

As an immediate measure, the EO who personally inspected the arrangements in Tirumala on Wednesday instructed the annaprasadam wing officials to make necessary free food arrangements in Tirumala at PACs I and II, CRO and in bus stand. He also directed them to provide milk to the infants and children in these places.

The EO also said, the bus services in the ghat roads will operate round the clock for the convenience of the pilgrims.

He instructed the officials of IT and finance wing to make necessary arrangements by placing point of Sale(PoS) machines (Swiping Machines) in the pilgrims where the pilgrim influx is more in Tirumala and also in Tirupati for booking rooms, purchasing laddu prasadams, calendars and diaries of TTD etc.

On the other hand swiping machines were placed at vital points in Tirumala for enabling and ensuring convenient booking of rooms and purchasing laddus. These machines were also placed at Srinivasam and Vishnu Nivasam complexes in Tirupati.

Meanwhile pilgrims have expressed immense satisfaction over the arrangements made by TTD on war-footing basis in this crisis situation. “The food and milk provided by TTD has come as a boon, as we feared when the hotels in Tirumala denied Rs.500 notes. Thanks to TTD for the pro-pilgrim gesture”, said Sri Selvam from Tamilnadu. Similar expressions were shared by Smt Lakhsmi from Vizag and Narayanappa from Bellary too.

DyEO Temple Sri Kodanda Rama Rao, Special Officer Annaprasadam Smt Chenchulakshmi, Catering Officer Sri Shastry, Reception DyEO Sri Harindranath and others were also present.
