TTD PLANS SEPARATE PIPELINE OF TG TO TIRUMALA

TIRUPATI, DECEMBER 24: In a major move to overcome the scarcity of water problem in Tirumala, the temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTDs) has decided to go for a long term plan by constructing a dedicated pipeline of Telugu Ganga to Tirumala.

In a high level meeting held by TTDs Executive Officer Dr.D.Sambasiva Rao with the public health department and municipal corporation officials at his chambers in administrative building in Tirupati on Wednesday, the EO sought them to come out with a constructive action plan to lay a separate pipeline of TG to Tirumala. The Engineering Chief of Public Health Department Sri Panduranga Rao also positively reacted to the proposal and said to chalk out a plan on the possibilities of the project.

Meanwhile the Tirupati Corporation has also given its nod to supply an additional 1mld of water to Tirumala. At present the civic body has been supplying 7mld of water to TTD to meet its demand both at Tirupati and Tirumala which includes 1.5mld to Tirupati and 5.5mld to Tirumala. This will suffice the water needs of Tirumala till July next. However, with the additional supply of 1mld of water to Tirumala will commence from 25th of December itself, will help TTD to meet the water requirements till October next.

Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, Chief Engineer of TTD Sri Chandrasekhar Reddy, SE I Sri Sudhakar Rao, SEII Sri Ramesh Reddy, EE Water Works Sri Narasimhamurthy, Municipal Commissioner Sri Sakala Reddy and others were also present.
