TTD-TEMPLES TO BE RE-OPENED ON OCT.8 BY 8.30PM

TIRUPATI, OCT. 8: Following lunar eclipse, all the temples under the umbrella of TTD including the famous Tiruchanoor, Srinivasa Mangapuram and Sri Govinda Rajaswamy temples have been closed by 10am and re-opened by 8.30pm on Wednesday night.

Apart from these main temples, other temples in and around Tirupati and also in Chittoor district including the reputed Lord Shiva Temple at Kapilateertham and Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy temple in Tirupati, Sri Prasanna Venkateswaraswamy temple at Appalayagunta, Narayanvanam and Nagulapuram temples, the temple doors were closed by 10am and re-opened after 7pm. Later purification rituals like Suddhi, Punyahavachanam have been performed and pilgrims are allowed for darshan from 8.30pm to 9.30pm before closing the doors of the temple for the day by performing Ekanta Seva.

However, in Tiruchanoor temple the Thrusday arjitha seva of Tiruppavada has also been cancelled and will be performed in Ekantam onOctober 9. While in the temple of Lord Kapileswara Swamy at Tirupati the temple doors are opened after eclipse and purification rituals were performed. The darshan will resume to the pilgrims only on Thrusday.

Meanwhile, TTD has also closed Annaprasadam activity by 10am at Vishnunivasam and Srinivasam pilgrim complexes in Tirupati and also at Annaprasadam complex in Tiruchanoor following lunar eclipse.
