TTD TRUST BOARD MEETING

Tirumala, 23 Aug 2010: TTD Chairman Sri D K Adikeshuvulu said the board had decided to write to the State Government to institute a comprehensive probe into all the activities and happenings in the Temple administration since 2006.

 Addressing the media reporters after the TTD board meeting at Annamayya Bhavan, Tirumala the Chairman said it was painful that only three members of the board have been singled out in a recent vigilance report for happenings in the institution. Hence the board decided to write to the State Government to order a full-fledged probe for the entire period of 2006-2010 and bring out all the lapses, if any, in the Temple Administration.

 Earlier the Chairman highlighted the achievements of TTD since he took over two years ago and reviewed all the initiatives taken up for the benefit of the common devotee.

 This is the last meeting of the TTD Board headed by Sri. D. K. Adikeshuvulu whose term expires by end of the August. Sri I.Y.R.Krishna Rao, Executive Officer, Sri J.S.V.Prasad, Endt Commissioner, TTD Board Members Dr Anjaiah, Sri Kale Yadaiah, Sri Ch. Sathyanarayana, Smt. Indira Reddy, Sri Routhu Suryaprakash Rao, and Sri Alluru Subramanyam were present.

 The Board also announced the names of the members of the   Central  Dharmik council – Justice Y Bhaskar Rao, Vedavati Prabhakar Rao, Subba Rao (Guntur ), Kandadai Ramanujacharyulu, Parthasarathy, Velkuri  Krishnan, Dondapati Shankar Rao, I Mallikarjuna Rao, Chandrasekhar Rao, R Appa Rao, P Sidhanti and K Shivanandamurthy and others.  The board has already appointed Retd IAS Officer   Rambabu as chairman of the council.

The Chairman said the board had also decided that all the jewellery of TTD should be henceforth insured against thefts, loss or accidents. This is the first major initiative which will help the TTD to recover losses and thefts, he said.

 The Board decided to create six new posts of Deputy Executive Officers, 52 Archakas, 22 paricharakas and 25 Veda Parayanadars. The TTD will organize training of the DEO’s and others.

 The Board also decided to hike the tariff of Abhisekham tickets to Rs.500. It also directed the officials to set tariffs for the new guest houses built around the Padmavati Guest house.

 The Board also decided to hike the Pilgrim compensation allowance to TTD employees from existing Rs.1000- Rs.1500 effective from November 2010. It also decided to hike the night allowance for TTD drivers.  It also decided to hike the salaries of Potu workers appointed on an out-sourcing basis.

Board member Smt. Indira Subbarami Reddy announced that she had decided to cancel the tickets bought in her grand sons name for Udhayaasthamana Seva and donate the amount of  Rs.20 lakhs for Veda Parirakshana Trust.

The Board also decided to rejuvenate the TTD advisory committee and Information centre at Raya Vellore.

The TTD chairman Sri Adikeshavulu said the board has decided to grant financial aid for the renovation to the Sri Ranganathaswamy temple at Yendamarri Mandal in the Chittoor district.
