VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK COMMENCED IN SVETA

TIRUPATI, OCT. 28: The Vigilance Wing of TTD should render much better and efficient services to the pilgrims by adopting techno-savvy methods to get rid off fraudulent practices and enhance the image of the institution, said TTD EO Dr D Samba Siva Rao.

Addressing the Vigilance Awareness Week programme dealing with the prime subject “Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance”, which commenced in SVETA bhavan in Tirupati on Wednesday evening, the TTD EO said, the TTD vigilance wing is the Eagle Eye of TTD in eliminating unscrupulous elements and enhancing the reputation of the institution. “The vigilance wing should not work for reputation. You should garner the appreciation from the public with your deeds. I appreciate you all for your efforts in catch holding of many dalaris in the recent times. Even the public have commended your services. This is what we want. We should not command respect but it should come by itself which is possible only with our deeds”, he reiterated.

While appreciating the services of vigilance sleuths during the recent brahmotsavams, the EO said, you should enhance your quality of services by planning some innovative schemes that would benefit pilgrims”, he added.

Later the EO said, our intention is not to punish anyone. But to show them that the cost of committing mistake will force them to face bitter consequences. Get rid of the bad elements with your efficiency, experience and using modern technology”, he added.

Earlier in his speech Tirupati Urban SP Sri Gopinath Jetti said, TTD vigilance and police personnel have work in unison with each other which resulted in the massive success of the recent twin brahmotsavams. “TTD, Vigilance and Police are not different departments and we all offer services to visiting pilgrims. So we should work with unity. The Vigilance week is also observed in memory of the great “Iron Man of India”, Sri Sardar Vallabhai Patel on his birth anniversary which falls on October 31. We should work with the spirit shown by such great people”, he observed.

TTD CVSO Sri G Nagendra Kumar presided over the meeting while additional CVSO Sri Siva Kumar Reddy was also present. Later the EO and Urban SP have given away mementos to the vigilance officers and sleuths who excelled in their area of service.

VGOs Smt Vimala Kumari, Sri Ravinder Reddy, AVSOs, VIs were also present.
