TWIN PROJECTS IN FULL SWING AT TIRUMALA

TOTAL RAINFALL RECORDED SO FAR IS 1649mm

Tirumala, 17 November 2015: Located in the lush green forest cover of Seshachalam ranges, the twin projects of Kumaradhara and Pasupudhara are in full swing with the recent unprecedented rains at Tirumala.

Constructed at a whopping cost of Rs.100 crores, the twin projects were brought into light about four years ago. The projects located at around 10 km from Tirumala temple provide a great visual treat with their location.

Meanwhile the capacity of Kumaradhara is 67.19mcft while Pasupudhara is 20.98mcft with weir type mechanism. The twin projects recorded about 780mm of rainfall in the last one week which happens to be the second highest after Gogarbham area which measured 801mm.

The details of rainfalls recorded from November 7-16 at various points in Tirumala as follows:
Filter house 746 mm
Gogarbham-801mm
Akasa Ganga-650mm
Papavinasanam-751mm
Kumaradhara-Pasupudhara-780mm

Usually the average annual rainfall in Tirumala is 1364mm while with the recent rains the rainfall is being recorded So far as1649mm which will suffice the drinking water needs for the next 388days.
