UGADI CELEBRATED WITH RELIGIOUS FERVOUR IN TIRUMALA

TIRUMALA, MARCH 21: The Telugu New Year Day, Sri Manmadha Nama Ugadi celebrated with religious fervour in Tirumala on Saturday.
Following the festival Ugadi Asthanam was performed between 7am to 9 am in Bangaru Vakili of sanctum sanctorum.

As a part of the Ugadi Asthanam, the processional deities were seated on finely decorated Sarvabhoopala Vahanam decked in new silk vastrams, in Bangaru Vakili and the Commander-in-Chief of Lord, Sri Viswaksena is made to sit on the adjacent side of His master and the temple court was performed as per Vaikhanasa Agama.

After performing Nivedana to deities, the Asthana Scholar rendered Panchanga Shravanam predicting the future events ahead of the year based on Hindu almanac.

Later speaking to media persons outside the temple, TTD EO Dr. D Sambasiva Rao extending greetings to all Srivari devotees said, the institution is committed to render more better and transparent services to the multitude of visiting pilgrims and vow to work in that direction.

Meanwhile the floral decorations remained a special attraction to the pilgrims. The “Pushpa Kalasam”, Iravata and other mythological characters decked in various flowers and vegetables caught the attention of pilgrims.
