UNION MINISTER’S SON DONATES DESI COWS TO GOSAMRKSHANA TRUST OF TTD

TIRUPATI, SEPT 2: The Union Minister Sri M Venkaiah Naidu’s son Sri Harshavardhan on Wednesday evening donated six DESI cows with six calves to TTD run SV Gosamrakshana Trust. The donation was made by TTD Trust board chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy and board member Sri G Bhanuprakash Reddy on behalf of Sri Harshavardhan at SV Goshala who had handed over the cattle to TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao.

Speaking on the occasion chairman said, Millions of Hindus have been worshipping cows which are believed to be the embodiment of three crore Hindu deities since ages. The cow is a symbol of the divine bounty of earth”, he added.
Board member Sri Bhanuprakash Reddy said “Cow is considered to be next to mother as it provides life to all of us through its milk. In Vedic scriptures there are verses which emphasize that the cow must be protected and cared for. Today the cow slaughtering is rampant and there is need to protect this illegal activities”, he added.

Ttd EO Sri Sambasiva Rao said, “There is a great bonding between cow and Lord Venkateswara as narrated in Venkatachala Mahatyam. Our chief mission is to protect Desi breeds. As on today we have over 2150 cows in our GOSHALA. Besides breeding the cows, we also want to develop Panchagavya products. We want to take up the protection in a big way by setting up a state of art cattle rearing centre at Palamaner”, he maintained.

Dairy Farm Director Dr Harnath Reddy thanked the donor for donating Shahiwal breed of Haryana which is considered to have high milch yielding capacity.
