VASANTHOTSAVAM ADVANCED ON FINAL DAY DUE TO LUNAR ECLIPSE

TIRUMALA, APRIL 4: The three-day annual vasanthotsavam concluded on a grand note with the Snapana tirumanjanam performed to all the ten processional deities in Vasantha Mandapam in Tieumala on Saturday.

However following lunar eclipse, the religious fete is advanced by 9 hours than usual time. Earlier All the processional deities including Malayappa Swamy-Sridevi-Bhudevi, Lord Sri Rama flanked by Goddess Sita Devi, Lakshmana Swamy and Lord Anjaneya, Lord Sri Krishna Swamy Accompanied by His two consorts, Rumini and Satyabhama brought from Tirumala shrine in a ceremonious procession and were rendered celestial bath by archakas as per Vaikhanasa Agama reciting “Panchasuktam” between 5am to 6.30am. After Snapanam the deities were brought back to the temple in a procession at 7.30am. Usually this fete takes place in the afternoon between2pm to 4pm. But due to lunar eclipse from 3:45 pm onwards, the snapanam was also advanced.

Meanwhile TTD has cancelled all sevas in connection with this festival.
