VEDA PARIRAKSHANA TRUST FOR THE WELFARE OF VEDIC PUNDIT FAMILIES

TIRUMALA, MAY 4:  The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) which is endeavouring for the propagation of Hindu Sanatana Dharma by taking up several activities, has added one more feather in its cap, by deciding to fund for the welfare of traditional Vedic pundit families spread across the country.

 

The TTD Executive Officer, Sri IYR Krishna Rao held a high-level meeting with Vedic Parirakshana Trust executive members at Tirumala on Wednesday at Annamaiah Bhavan.  Some important decisions have been taken in the meeting towards the welfare of 2500 Vedic pandit families in the country as identified by the Sri Venkateswara Vedic University.

 

It has been decided to give an amount of Rs.1lakh towards ex-gratia to the family in the case of the sudden demise of a family member. This grant will be released out of the interest on corpus fund from Vedaparirakshana Trust. The EO has also directed the finance officers of TTD to chalk out a health insurance scheme to these families.

 

The meeting was attended by Joint EO of Tirumala Sri KS Srinivasa Raju, Additional FACAO Sri Balaji, SV Vedic university VC Sri S Sudarshana Sharma, Higher Vedic Studies project officer Sri DV Sri Ramachandra Murthy, Veda Pathashala Principal Sri Srirama Murthy, EC Members Sri Vishwanatha Gopala Krishna, Sri Venkatarama Ghanapathi, Sri Narayana Sharma and Sri Venkata Sharma.
