VEDIC LEGACY SHOULD BE SUSTAINED FOR FUTURE – TTD EO

Tirumala, 28 September 2016: Giving a clarion call to the vedic fraternity, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao on Wednesday stressed the need to vedic legacy for the benefit of future generations.

The TTD top brass officer graced the 124th Convocation ceremony of Veda Vignana Peetham at Dharmagiri in Tirumala as Chief Guest. Speaking on this occasion he said, one of the prime objectives of TTD is to safeguard the vedic knowledge and spread the essence across the globe through extensive research programmes and conducting seminars.

“Today, we are operating seven veda pathashalas which are imparting vedic education to over 950 students. Those who have successfully completed the vedic course are getting numerous opportunities as priests and professors. In the past, we have given jobs to seven students who excelled in vedic courses. Even we are ready to offer our support to private vedic schools for the spread of vedic knowledge. The donations to SV Veda Parirakshana Trust is also encouraging”, he added.

Earlier Veda Vignana Peetham Principal Sri Kuppa Venkata Siva Subrahmanya Avadhani briefed the academic activities and achievements in the last one year in the Peetham. He said TTD has been giving a stipend of Rs.3lakhs to students who successfully complete12-year vedic course and Rs.1lakh to 8-year course students.

HH Sri Pedda Jiyangar Swamy and HH Sri Chinna Jiyangar Swamy of Tirumala also took part in this convocation ceremony. Later they have given away the certificates and 10grams silver medallion to the 68 students belonging to Veda, Agama, Divyaprabandha and Smartha divisions along with TTD EO.

Vedic faculty and students were also present.
