WOMEN DEVOTEES SANCTIFY THEIR LIVES PULLING GOLDEN CHARIOT

Tiruchanur, 24 November 2014: It’s a big day for thousands of women devotees who thronged the temple town of Tiruchanoor to pull the golden chariot on which Goddess Padmavathi Devi as Herself mounted gracefully on Monday evening.

The Golden Chariot which is otherwise called “Swarna Ratham” stands as mark of the “Richie Rich” Goddess of Wealth. This 15-feet chariot is pulled exclusively by women devotees in the four-mada streets.

Tens of thousands of women devotees lined up to catch the rope tied to the mighty chariot and pulled the ratham chanting the divine names of Goddess with aplomb.

The glory of the Swarna Ratham enhanced when the rays of setting Sun fell it. It has been a rare visual treat to the multitude of the pilgrims to catch this rare glimpse.

Goddess Padmavathi Devi blessed the devotees in all Her grandeur in the Golden Chariot procession which lasted for over two hours on Monday evening.
