Tirupati, 3 December 2009: Dr. N.Yuvaraj, Joint Executive Officer, TTDs Inaugurated Neo Natal Screening Programme at Govt Maternity Hospital, Tirupati on Thursday in connection with World Disabled Day.
The TTD Started Sravanam Project for the benefit of Hearing Impaired children suffering in society in the year 2006. The main aim of the institute is to identify the newborn suffering from hearing loss in society and the identified children admitted and trained in Sravanam, which helps in acquiring speech and language and they can lead normal life with the ability of communication.
Early indentification and intervention of hearing loss helps in diagnosis treatment and echobilitation. To make them aware of the people of Andhra Pradesh the Sravanam Project started conducting camps in different parts of Andhra Pradesh to reach the people. Already in Kadapa District a camp was conducted on 09-06-2009 and in Karimnagar on 29-06-2009.
To expand the activities of Sravanam in reaching the people a Unique programme first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh i.e “ NEONATAL SCREENING PROGRAMME” for identification of hearing loss planned at Government Maternity Hospital, Tirupati. Daily 30 to 40 new babies are born and all the new born babies on 2nd day of birth are screened.
The identified children with hearing impairment are admitted in Sravanam for further rehabilitation which helps in acquiring normal speech and language, communication is very important to lead normal life in the society.
Dr.Sarada, Chief Medical Officer, TTDs, Dr. Venkateswarlu, Supdt SVRR Hospital , Dr. Haranath, Prof ENT and others were present.

తిరుపతి, డిశెంబర్‌-03, 2009: మంచి మనస్సు, ఆలోచన లేనివారే అసలైన వికలాంగులు అని తిరుమల తిరుపతి దేవస్థానముల సంయుక్త కార్యనిర్వహణాధికారి డాక్టర్‌ యువరాజు అన్నారు.
ప్రపంచ వికలాంగుల దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా గురువారం స్థానిక ప్రసూతి ఆసుపత్రినందు తితిదే నిర్వహిస్తున్న శ్రవణం ప్రాజెక్టు ఆధ్వర్యంలో చిన్న పిల్లలో వినికిడి లోపాన్ని గుర్తించే స్క్రీనింగ్‌ సెంటర్‌ను తితిదే జె.ఇ.ఒ. యువరాజు ముఖ్య అతిధిగా విచ్చేసి ప్రారంభించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ తితిదే నిర్వహిస్తున్న శ్రవణం ప్రాజెక్టు ద్వారా చిన్నపిల్లలలోని వినికిడి లోపాన్ని గుర్తించి వారికి ప్రత్యేక శిక్షణ ఇచ్చి స్పీకింగ్‌ తెరపి, హియరింగ్‌ తెరపిల ద్వారా వారిని మామూలు పిల్లలుగా మార్చుతున్నామని చెప్పారు. స్థానిక ప్రసూతి ఆసుపత్రినందు ప్రతిరోజు 30 నుండి 40 మంది వరకు పిల్లలు జన్మిస్తున్నారని వారికి ఇక్కడే స్క్రీనింగ్‌ టెస్టు నిర్వహించడం వలన మంచి ఫలితాలు సాదించవచ్చునన్న అభిప్రాయంతో ఇక్కడ ప్రారంభిస్తున్నామని తెలిపారు. దీనిని అందరూ సద్వినియోగం చేసుకోవాలని కోరారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో రుయాఆసుపత్రి సూపరింటెండెంట్‌ డాక్టర్‌ వెంకటేశ్వర్లు, ప్రసూతి ఆసుపత్రి సూపరింటెండెంట్‌ డాక్టర్‌ మాలతి, యస్‌.వి.మెడికల్‌ కళాశాల ప్రిన్సిఫల్‌ డాక్టర్‌ సుభద్రాదేవి, తితిదే ఛీప్‌ మెడికల్‌ ఆఫీసర్‌ డాక్టర్‌ శారద, డాక్టర్‌ ఆర్ముగం, డాక్టర్‌ హరినాధ్‌ తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
