Vontimitta, 11 April 2024: The traditional temple cleansing fete, Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will be performed in Sri Kodanda Ramalayam at Vontimitta in Kadapa district on Friday.
As the Sri Rama Navami Utsavalu including annual Brahmotsavams are set to commence from April 17 onwards till April 25, TTD is making elaborate arrangements for the big festival with the co-operation district management.
As part of this, the temple is cleansed with an aromatic mixture called Parimalam on Friday.
HARIDRA GHATANAM
Pounding of turmeric roots will be performed for the first time in the temple premises on April 13.
This process is known as Haridra Ghatanam. It is a tradition in Hindu marriages to prepare turmeric to give auspicious bath to both the bride and bridegroom before entering into the wedlock.
The turmeric powder thereby obtained will be used in the celestial Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 22 which will be observed between 6:30pm and 8:30pm at Kalyana Vedika in Vontimitta.

ఏప్రిల్ 12న ఒంటిమిట్ట శ్రీ కోదండరామస్వామి ఆలయంలో కోయిల్‌ ఆళ్వార్‌ తిరుమంజనం
తిరుపతి, 2024 ఏప్రిల్ 11: ఒంటిమిట్ట శ్రీ కోదండరామస్వామివారి ఆలయంలో ఏప్రిల్ 12వ తేదీన కోయిల్‌ ఆళ్వార్‌ తిరుమంజనం నిర్వహించనున్నారు. ఆలయంలో ఏప్రిల్ 17 నుండి 25వ తేదీ వరకు బ్ర‌హ్మోత్స‌వాలు జ‌రుగ‌నున్న నేప‌థ్యంలో కోయిల్‌ ఆళ్వార్‌ తిరుమంజనం నిర్వహించడం ఆనవాయితీ.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ఏప్రిల్ 12న తెల్లవారుజామున సుప్రభాతంతో స్వామివారిని మేల్కొలుపుతారు. అనంతరం ఉదయం 8 నుండి 11.30 గంటల వరకు ఆలయంలో కోయిల్‌ ఆళ్వార్‌ తిరుమంజనం జరుగనుంది.
ఇందులో ఆలయ ప్రాంగణం, గోడలు, పైకప్పు, పూజాసామగ్రి తదితర అని వస్తువులను నీటితో శుద్ధి చేసిన అనంతరం నామకోపు, శ్రీచూర్ణం, కస్తూరి పసుపు, పచ్చాకు, గడ్డ కర్పూరం, గంధం పొడి, కుంకుమ, కిచీలీగడ్డ తదితర సుగంధ ద్రవ్యాలు కలగలిపిన పవిత్రమిశ్రమాన్ని ఆలయం అంతటా ప్రోక్షణం చేస్తారు. అనంతరం భక్తులను దర్శనానికి అనుమతిస్తారు.
ఏప్రిల్ 13న పసుపు దంచే కార్యక్రమం :
ఒంటిమిట్ట శ్రీ కోదండ రామస్వామి ఆలయంలో శనివారం ఉదయం పసుపు దంచే కార్యక్రమం చేపట్టనున్నారు. ఏప్రిల్ 17న ప్రారంభము కానున్న శ్రీరామనవమి ఉత్సవాల్లో భాగంగా ఏప్రిల్ 22వ తేదీ అత్యంత వైభవంగా జరిగే శ్రీ సీతారాముల కళ్యాణంలో ఈ పసుపును వినియోగించనున్నారు.
