తిరుమల, అక్టోబరు 16, 2026: తిరుమల శ్రీవేంకటేశ్వరస్వామివారి నవరాత్రి బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల్లో ఐదో రోజైన శుక్రవారం రాత్రి గరుడ వాహనసేవ అత్యంత వైభవంగా జరిగింది. స్వామివారికి అత్యంత ప్రీతిపాత్రమైన గరుడ వాహనంపై లక్ష్మీకాసుల మాలధారిగా శ్రీ మలయప్పస్వామివారు భక్తులకు అభయమిచ్చారు.
రాత్రి 6.30 గంటలకు ప్రారంభమైన వాహనసేవలో స్వామివారు నాలుగు మాడవీధుల్లో విహరిస్తూ భక్తులకు దివ్యదర్శనం ప్రసాదించారు. గజరాజుల గంభీర నడక, మంగళవాయిద్యాలు, భజనలు, కోలాటాలు, జీయ్యంగార్ల ఘోషల నడుమ సాగిన గరుడసేవ భక్తులను పరవశింపజేసింది. అడుగడుగునా భక్తులు కర్పూర హారతులు సమర్పిస్తూ గోవింద నామస్మరణతో తిరుమల క్షేత్రాన్ని మార్మోగించారు.
వర్షంలోనూ తరగని భక్తిభావం
మధ్యాహ్నం నుంచి వర్షం కురుస్తున్నప్పటికీ భక్తుల ఉత్సాహం ఏమాత్రం తగ్గలేదు. చిరుజల్లులను సైతం లెక్కచేయకుండా వేలాది మంది భక్తులు గంటల తరబడి వేచి ఉండి స్వామివారిని దర్శించుకున్నారు.
గ్యాలరీల్లో వేచి ఉన్న భక్తులకు టీటీడీ అన్నప్రసాదాలు, తాగునీరు, పాలు, బాదంపాలు, అల్పాహారం, బిస్కెట్ ప్యాకెట్లు అందించింది. వర్షంలోనూ అవసరమైన సౌకర్యాలు కల్పించడంపై భక్తులు సంతృప్తి వ్యక్తం చేశారు.
గరుడ వాహనసేవ.. భక్తి, జ్ఞాన వైరాగ్యాలకు ప్రతీక
వైష్ణవ సంప్రదాయంలో గరుడ వాహనసేవకు విశిష్టమైన ప్రాధాన్యం ఉంది. భగవంతునికి పరమ భక్తుడైన గరుడాళ్వారిపై స్వామివారు విహరించడం భక్తి, శరణాగతికి ప్రతీకగా నిలుస్తుంది. గరుడుని దర్శనం సర్వపాప ప్రక్షాళనకు, జ్ఞాన వైరాగ్య ప్రాప్తికి మార్గమని పురాణాలు తెలియజేస్తున్నాయి. గరుడ వాహనంపై కొలువుదీరిన శ్రీవారిని దర్శించుకోవడం తమ జన్మ ధన్యమైనట్లుగా భక్తులు భావిస్తారు.

Tirumala, 16 October 2026: Unwavering faith that even continuous downpour could not dampen as tens of thousands of devotees witnessed Garuda Seva on Friday evening in Tirumala.
The four mada streets surrounding Tirumala temple have become a witness to the living ocean of faith as scores of devotees, undeterred by continuous downpour, waited with folded hands and tear-filled eyes for the divine darshan of Sri Malayappa Swamy on the majestic Garuda Vahanam chanting Govinda..Govinda.. with religious ecstasy.
The Garuda Seva, the most cherished event of the annual Brahmotsavams, once again transformed the sacred hill town into “Kaliyuga Vaikuntam.
Pilgrims began streaming into Tirumala from the late night of Thursday itself to secure a place in the galleries for Friday evening Garuda Seva event. Even as showers intensified into a steady downpour, umbrellas, raincoats and plastic sheets became part of the devotional landscape.
Aged, families with children, and young devotees stood shoulder to shoulder, chanting the divine name as they waited to catch a glimpse of Sri Malayappa Swamy atop the mighty golden Garuda in all His resplendence.
Adorned in dazzling ornaments, and silk robes and seated majestically on Garuda, Sri Malayappa glided along the four mada streets to bless His devout.
The rain tested the pilgrims’ endurance, but it also revealed the depth of their faith making the entire celestial procession into a powerful backdrop for an unforgettable spiritual spectacle.
TTD officials, police personnel, vigilance staff and Srivari Seva volunteers remained alert throughout, focusing on crowd regulation, safety, and smooth darshan arrangements amid the inclement weather as the Garuda Vahanam moved gracefully through the Mada streets.
Both the Pontiffs of Tirumala, TTD Board Chairman Sri BR Naidu, EO Sri M Ravichandra, board members, TTD mandarins, officials were also present.
