Tirupati, 7 Feb. 20: Describing renowned epigraphist late Sri Veturi Prabhakara Shastry as the architect of popularising Srivaru in the world of Bhakti, Joint Executive Officer, Sri P Basant Kumar hailed the historian of his great contributions of all campaigns of glorification of Lord Venkateswara.
Participating in the 132 Jayanti function of Sri Veturi Prabhakar Shastri the JEO garlanded the bronze statue of the famed historian who transcribed the inscriptions and Annamacharya sankeertans and paid flora tributes.
He said Prabhakar Shastri who worked as Peishkar at Srivari temple had translated 1167 copper plate inscriptions which also included Annamacharya sankeertans. The celebrations also included a series of speeches by eminent literary persons on the historian at a commemoration meeting at the Sri Venkateswara oriental college.
Dr Samudrala Lakshmaiah, and Sri Surendra, Principal of SV Oriental College and others were also present.

తిరుపతి, 2020 ఫిబ్ర‌వ‌రి 07: తిరుమ‌ల శ్రీ‌వారిపై అన్నమయ్య ర‌చించిన సంకీర్త‌న‌ల‌ను అనువదించి శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వరస్వామివారి వైభవం విశ్వవ్యాప్తం కావడానికి కృషి చేసిన మహనీయుడుశ్రీ వేటూరి ప్రభాకరశాస్త్రి అని టిటిడి తిరుపతి జెఈవో శ్రీ పి.బ‌సంత్‌కుమార్‌ తెలిపారు. శ్రీ వేటూరి ప్రభాకరశాస్త్రి 132 వ జయంతిని శుక్ర‌వారం ఘనంగా నిర్వహించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా తిరుపతిలోని శ్వేత భవనం ఎదురుగా గల శ్రీ వేటూరి ప్రభాకరశాస్త్రి కాంస్య విగ్రహానికి పుష్పాంజలి సమర్పించారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా జెఈవో మాట్లాడుతూ ఉన్నతమైన సాహితీ విలువలను, తెలుగు సంస్కృతిని, సంప్రదాయాలను ప్రపంచానికి అందించిన ఘనత వేటూరి వారికే దక్కుతుందన్నారు. ఆయన ప్రతి క్షణాన్ని లోకకల్యాణం కోసమే వెచ్చించారని పేర్కొన్నారు. శ్రీ వేటూరి ప్రభాకరశాస్త్రి అన్నమయ్య కీర్తనల భాండాగారం నుంచి చాలా రాగి రేకులను వెలికితీసి కీర్తనలను వెలుగులోకి తెచ్చినట్టు వివరించారు.
అనంత‌రం తిరుపతిలోని శ్రీ వేంక‌టేశ్వ‌ర ప్రాచ్య క‌ళాశాల‌లో ఉదయం 10.30 గంటల నుంచి స్మారకోపన్యాస సభలో వేటూరివారి సాహిత్యంపై ప్రముఖ పండితులు ఉపన్యసించారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో శ్రీ వేంక‌టేశ్వ‌ర ప్రాచ్య క‌ళాశాల ప్రిన్సిపాల్ శ్రీ సురేంద్ర, డా.స‌ముద్రాల ల‌క్ష్మ‌ణ‌య్య, ఇత‌ర అధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
