ANIMALS GRAND PARADE AT TIRUMALA

Tirumala, 21 October 2015: The caparisoned elephants,Horses, Bulls were the major attraction in the Vahanam processions of both Salakatla and Navaratri Brahmotsavams, says Dr Harinath Reddy, Director of SV Go Samsakshana shala.

Speaking to reporters at Media Center Dr Reddy said that 6 elephants, 4 horses and 2 bulls chosen for the vahana parade were given training by experts so that the animals are scared by the bright lights , loud music and the crowd presence at the mada streets near the temple. Speacial arrangements were also made to feed them in front of the Srivari Temple since the animals are on duty for over 6 hours.

Dr Reddy said the dairy farm was also engaged in supplying ghee,milk and butter milk required in the services of Srivari temple at Tirumala. ‘ He said TTD was protecting 13 species of Cow while there were 30 species of Cows in the country. He said TTD has also floated a team of Gow Sevaks who serve at the Tiruapti Gow shala and on important festivals Gow puja is also performed at vartious locations in towns etc .
