Tirumala, 13 September 2016: TTD Executive officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao today said that brisk preparations were made on a war footing for the ensuing annual Brahmotsavams at Tirumala from October 3-11 for providing the huge crowds of devotees a comfortable and satisfactory darshan of vahana sevas and also the events.

He said security and barricading at the four mada streets and galleries were taken up for completion before schedule. Barricades are complete at East Mada street and work is progressing at the South, North and West mada streets. All arrangements are made so that the devotees could have darshan of Lord inside Srivari temple and also enjoy the vahana seva darshan in the galleries without any hassle.

He said the Garuda Seva will commence half an hour ahead this year at 7.30pm instead of 8pm so that devotees could get satisfactory darshan. On garuda Seva day, we want to ensure there is no hassle for devotees visiting Srivari Temple and those in galleries for vahana seva.They will be provided with food ,butter milk and LCD screens will also be set up for benefit of those who were not in the galleries.

He said the special focus will also be on the cultural bonanza during Brahmotsavams. An IT application will be developed for avoiding duplication and also infuse quality among performance of the Bhajan groups.

RTC buses will be organised efficiently to bring all devotees to Tirumala for Garuda Seva day and as of last year the Srivari Mettu walkers path will be opened up on a 24×7 basis for benefit of devotees to witness the Garuda seva. Necessary security with forest, lighting vigilance and also supply of water etc will also be made for safety and comfort of the devotees.

Cut outs and electrifications installation at all major road junctions and cross roads at Tirumala. White washing is complete at many parts of Srivari temple.

CC cameras and additional police force to be deployed. Rayalaseema IG Sridhar rao, Anantapur Range DIG Prabhakar Rao and Tirupati Urban SP Smt Jayalakshmi have inspected the vantage points several times. Nearly 3000-3500 police men will be deployed for security during the Brahmotsavams. Another 1000 strong force willbe deployed on the Garuda Seva day. It has also been decided to deploy NDRF, Octopus and other security forces and coordinate arrangements.

TTD has also decided to keep a buffer stock of 7 lakh laddus and also sale of 7 lakh laddus per day. Additional staff needed for preprations of laddus were also being hired. Ad hoc arrangements have been made for setting up another kitchen (potu) along with the existing mechanised Kitchen for preparing boondi.

On September 16 the trial run of Garuda Seva will be conducted at the mada streets of Tirumala on the pournami day to take corrective measures for the main prestigious event during the Brahmotsavams.

On September 27 the sacred event of Koil Thirumanjanam will be performed at the Srivari Temple as a precursor to the Brahmotsavam commencement with the Dwajarohanam.

TTD EO also said that all preparations for the Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam on Sep 27 and Ankurarpanam on October 2 will be completed one week ahead.
