“NAKSHATRA SATRA YAGAM” FOR THE WELL BEING OF HUMANITY-TTD EO SRI MG GOPAL

TIRUMALA, NOV 15: The Nakshatra Satra Yagam is aimed at for the well being of the entire humanity  by invoking the blessings of the stars in the cosmos, said TTD EO Sri MG Gopal.

Addressing on the occasion of the Yagam which commenced on Friday in the Dharmagiri Veda Pathashala at Tirumala, he said, The Vedic scriptures emphasize the need to perform various types of Yagnas that are aimed at for the betterment of humanity. The present Nakstra Satra Yagam will bring forth peace and prosperity and enhance the spirit of brotherhood among the global masses. Upasana and Homa for each Nakshatra will be conducted and those born under that particular Nakshatra can participate in the worship. This is the main objective and Sankalpam of the Yagna”, the EO added.

Later emphasising on the importance of Vedic education he said, “This yagam will be observed as practicals for the students who are studying vedas in Dharmagiri Veda Pathashala. The TTD trust board and management are moving ahead with innovative ideas with a noble aim to bring back past glory to Vedic studies”, he added.

Elaborating on the significance of the Yagam, the Veda Pathashala Principal Acharya Sri K S S Avadhani said of the Yagam is performed to invoke the blessings of the constellation of stars in the galaxy for the wellbeing of the entire humanity. “As a part of it the invoking of Nakshatra Adhisthana Devatas of each of the 27 stars and also Abhijit Star in which Adhisthana Devata happens to be none other than the creator Lord Brahma on each day. Apart from this the tithi of full moon and Amavasya, Lord Chandra, Ahoratras, Ushakala(dawn), Nakshatra Samanya, Lord Surya, Goddess Aditi(mother of Devatas) will also be invoked on the rest of the days and the Yagam concludes with the invocation of Lord Maha Vishnu on the final day with Vaishnavesthi on December 21. Today on the auspicious day of Karthika Sukla Triodasi Friday we have commenced this yagna by setting up Tretagnis to perform the Yagna.

Meanwhile this 37-day Yagna will be carried out under the supervision of renowned Vedic exponent Sri Kuppa Ramagopala Vajapeyajulu by ritwiks Sri Krishna Sharma Somayaji, Sri Venkateswara Somayaji, Sri Chitta Sriramasharma and Sri Chitta Harikrishna Sharma.
