ORGANIC CLEANING OF TIRUMALA TEMPLE SOON-TTD EO

Tirumala, 2 March 2018: To enhance the longevity of the temple structure, organic process of cleaning using a thick herbal paste and water jet will be utilised soon to clean Tirumala temple, said TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal.

Speaking to media persons after “Dial your EO” programme at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday, the EO said, it has been several years since Tirumala temple is cleansed thoroughly and we are going the “Herbal Way” of cleaning the structure soon. We have already experimented the same in Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple in Tirupati. Initially we try the same near Mahadwaram, Dhwajastambham and seeing the results we call for expression of interest to take up the entire work”, he maintained.

Adding further, the EO said, the Mahasamprokshanam of Tirumala temple will be taken up after negotiating with Vaikhanasa Agama pundits.

The EO also said, Lord Venkateswara temples coming up at Kanyakumari at a cost of Rs.22.60cr, Kurukshetra at 34.60crores are getting ready for inauguration and the presiding deities will be installed likely in the months of April and May. The construction of Goddess Sri Padmavathi temple at Chennai at Rs.7cr and Lord Venkateswara temple in Bhuvaneshwar at Rs.6.70cr will commence soon”, he added.

Briefing on other works, the EO said, the beautification of Alipiri footpath, Avilala tank, Alipiri-Cherlopalle road are also underway and nearing completion.

This month the special days of darshan for aged and physically challenged pilgrims will be on March 6 and 20 and for parents with children below 5years will be on 7 and 21.
