TTD SELECTED FOR TALENTED CONSERVATOR AWARD 2010

TIRUPATI, DECEMBER 25:   The temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has been selected for the “Talented Conservator Award” for preserving the green belt along the seven hills and protecting the ecology of the holy hills.


TTD will be honoured with this award during the inaugural function of the three-day international seminar on Medicinal Plants and Herbal Products organised jointly by Botany department of SV University along with AP Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Board, Hyderabad and AP State Council of Science and Technology Hyderabad, which begins on 27th December and concludes on December 29 at Sri Venkateswara University at Tirupati.


TTD has been growing varieties of medicinal plants at Srinivasa Mangapuram, Ayurvedic college campus and all along the seven hills over the past one decade and there by playing a key role in the preservation of ecology and conservation of medicinal and traditional plants.


This seminar is aimed at providing a platform for eminent researchers, academicians, physicians, traditional medical practioners, manufacturers of herbal and ayurvedic medicines etc from across the world to discuss on the topics like the role of medicinal plants in Ayurveda and Siddha, Pharmacognasy, Phytochemistry, Herbal cosmetics and other traditional blend of medicines.


There will also be an exhibition related to these herbal and medicinal plant products.
