UNIQUE FESTIVAL OBSERVED_ తిరుమలలో వేడుకగా ”భాగ్‌సవారి” ఉత్సవం
Tirumala, October 2: Religious fervour marked the Bagh Savari festival observed at the Hill shrine of Tirumala on Monday evening. This festival which would be observed on the immediate day after the conclusion of the nine-day Brahmotsavam has great significance and an interesting legend to convey the message of the bonding between a devotee and Lord.
LORD AND GODDESS TESTIFY THE DEVOTION OF ANANTALWAR
According to temple legends, Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi in the guise of ordinary humans destroy the flower gardens grown up by Ananthalwar, an devotee of Lord who introduced Pushpa Kainkaryams in the temple, only to testify his dedicated devotion.
In a bid to catch-hold of the “Divine Human Couple”, Ananthalwar succeeds in tying up Goddess to an Aswatha tree in his garden while the Lord escapes from his clutches running anti-clock wise. Later, Ananthalwar realises his mistake and carries the Goddess in a floral basket to the Srivari temple and rejoins her with the Lord.
WHERE LORD IS TAKEN ON PROCESSION IN AN ANTI-CLOCKWISE MANNER
As the Lord escapes in an anti-clockwise direction, even today this festival is conducted in an anti-clock wise manner. In connection with the festival, the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy and his two consorts were taken around in a procession from the main temple to the Ananthalwar gardens situated on the south-west corner of the temple complex.
After observing certain religious formalities at the gardens, the deities were again taken back to the main temple. The TTD officials, priests and scores of devotees and locals took part in the festival.

అక్టోబరు 02, తిరుమల 2017 : తిరుమలలో అక్టోబర్‌ 2వ తేది సాయంత్రం భాగ్‌సవారి ఉత్సవాన్ని టిటిడి వేడుకగా నిర్వహించింది. ఈ సందర్భంగా స్వామివారి ఉత్సవమూర్తులను తిరుమాడ వీధులలో ఊరేగుతూ అనంతాళ్వారు తోటకు వేంచేశారు. అఖిలాండకోటి బ్రహ్మాండనాయకుని బ్రహ్మూెత్సవాలు పూర్తయిన మరుసటిరోజు తిరుమలలో ”భాగ్‌సవారి” ఉత్సవం నిర్వహించడం ఆనవాయితీగా వస్తోంది. అందులో భాగంగా భాగ్‌సవారి ఉత్సవాన్ని నిర్వహించారు.
పురాణ ప్రాశస్త్యం నేపథ్యంలో స్వామివారు భక్తాగ్రేసరుడైన శ్రీ అనంతాళ్వారుల భక్తిని పరీక్షించడానికి శ్రీదేవి సమేతంగా స్వామివారు అనంతాళ్వారు పూదోటటు మానవ రూపంలో విచ్చేస్తారు. తన పూదోటలో పూలుకోస్తున్న అమ్మవారిని అనంతాళ్వారులవారు అశ్వత్త వృక్షానికి బందిస్తాడు. స్వామివారిని పట్టుకోబోగా అప్రదక్షిణ దిశలో పారిపోయి ఆలయంలోనికి ప్రవేశించి మాయమై పోతారు. అనంతరం అనంతాళ్వారులవారు తన భక్తిని పరీక్షించడానికి విచ్చేసింది స్వామివారేనని గ్రహించి పశ్చాతాపడ్డాడు. వెంటనే అమ్మవారిని బందీ నుండి విముక్తురాలిని చేసి, పూలబుట్టలో కూర్చోబెట్టి స్వయంగా స్వామివారి చెంతకు చేరవేస్తాడు. తన భక్తుడైన అనంతాళ్వారు భక్తికి మెచ్చి స్వామివారు బ్రహ్మూెత్సవాల మరునాడు అనంతాళ్వారు తోటలోనికి అప్రదక్షణంగా విచ్చేసి తిరిగి ఆలయంలోనికి ప్రవేశిస్తానని అభయమిచ్చాడు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో ఆలయ డిప్యూటీ ఈవో శ్రీ కోదండరామరావు, ఓఎస్‌డి శ్రీ పాల శేషాద్రి, ఆలయ అర్చకులు, ఏవిజీవో శ్రీ కూర్మారావు, ఇతర అధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
