“WE ARE THE ARCHITECTS OF OUR OWN DESTINY”-JEO

Tirupati, 5 September, 2014: TTDs Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar called upon the students to learn spiritual knowledge apart from their academics under the able guidance of their teachers.

Inaugurating the novel programme, “Satsang” under the aegis of Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP) in Sri Venkateswara Arts College on Friday on the occasion of “Gurupujotsavam”, addressing the students he said “You are architects of your own destiny. The relationship that a teacher and student share is of trust, respect and devotion. Teachers influence the students by shaping their rational and moral virtues and hence, play an important role in molding the society as a whole. This programme is aimed at reviving such a relationship between the students and teachers in order to provide this great country its good citizens and TTD is firm on this. You are all blessed to have got an opportunity to study in the abode of Lord Venkateswara. Therefore you have an additional responsibility to protect and preserve the glory of India. For this you need to develop spiritual and moral wisdom besides regular academic education”, he added.

Earlier the Special Officer of HDPP Sri S Raghunath explained the importance of “Satsang” programme.

Renowned scholar Dr Samudrala Lakshmanaiah narrated the students about the “Teacher-Student relationship in ancient and modern India. “India is a land of ‘Guru-Sishya Parampara’ since ages. With the passage of time, the ancient tradition of conglomerating at educational places ceased to exist in its original form and was replaced by more modern practices of schools, colleges and universities. There is need to protect the sanctity of this great relationship even in this modern era and hence “Satsang” programme has been designed by TTD which is welcoming and essential”, he added.

DEO Sri Vijay Kumar, SV Arts College Principal Sri Chirstopher and other faculty members were also present.
